Honor. Celebrate. Inspire. Empower.
Extra Yard for Teachers is the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s primary cause brand. The mission of Extra Yard for Teachers (EYFT) is to elevate the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering quality teachers. The College Football Playoff provides an enormous platform to go the extra yard for teachers who have gone the extra yard for us.
College football is the most readily visible representation of students achieving their dreams of attending college. This road to college is often attributed to the support and commitment of gifted teachers. Throughout the months and weeks leading up to the CFP National Championship, we take time to focus on the people who helped student-athletes across the country reach their dreams of attending college: teachers.
Impacting Tampa Bay
Extra Yard for Teachers has pledged $1 million to Tampa Bay, the majority of which will benefit local schools by funding projects submitted on DonorsChoose.org. These projects, submitted by educators and schools, aim to create a better learning environment by purchasing needed resources, wish list items, or funding educational class outings.
To help make this effort a reality, Extra Yard for Teachers and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission have partnered with the Helios Education Foundation along with Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County school districts to provide a direct provision of resources, recognize our community’s teachers, champion great classroom leaders, and inspire a college-going culture in our schools.
Join the team today and support teachers and students on DonorsChoose.org by making your own contribution. Because when it comes to education, every little bit makes a big difference.
